GATE or the Graduate Test of Aptitude in Engineering Examination is held all over India every year to test the knowledge of students from branches of architecture, engineering and technology. In the year 2013, the examination will be held on 10th of January, 2013 for offline candidates and 20th of January, 2013 for online candidates. It has been said that the GATE syllabus 2013 will be more or less the same as the previous few years.
The main subjects
There are many subjects which are covered for the GATE exams. A total of 31 subjects are present. They cover all sectors of engineering, technology and architecture. Maximum number of students are from branches like civil engineering, ECE and electrical.
From where can you get the syllabus?
This 2013 GATE is being organized by IIT Bombay. Last year 14 out of every 100 candidates had cleared the GATE exam on an average. The GATE syllabus 2013 can be got from the main website. There are about 31 subjects and the syllabus for each subject can be individually found out by selecting the subject link. One can also download the syllabus into a phone or PC from the website. Mostly the final syllabus is released by July.
How to prepare for GATE 2013?
After viewing the GATE syllabus 2013, you should go get the question papers of the previous few years’ GATE exams. Also you can join a GATE forum where students who are willing to appear in the GATE next year apply. A total of 350 hours of classes are taken where a student is nurtured and taught every little detail that might come handy in the GATE exams. The students are taught according to the GATE syllabus 2013 of that particular subject. Mock tests are also held. There are several GATE forums in almost all cities in India. One should even take the online mock tests and get an idea on how to evaluate one from time to time. A vigorous practice has to done for months in order to crack gate. The eligibility to pass in GATE is at least 25 on the total score.
