GATE 2015 Application Form

GATE or the Graduate Test on Aptitude in Engineering is an examination held all over India to test the complete knowledge and understanding of students in different undergraduate subjects in technology, architecture and engineering. The GATE 2015 application forms will be available from September 1, 2014 and the last date of the online submission is 1st October, 2014. The 2015 GATE is being organized by IIT Kanpur.

Who organizes gate?

  • GATE is organized by the IISc or the Indian institute of science, Bangalore along with the 7 Indian institute of technology (IIT)- IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur.
  • These reputed institutes organize GATE on the behalf of the Higher Education Department, the Ministry Of Development of Human Resource or the MHRD, Indian Government and the National Board of Coordination for GATE

How does the GATE score help the candidates?

Depending upon how high one’s GATE score is, he or she can become a part of various post graduate programs like M.Tech, M.E. or even direct PhD courses in reputed institutions for higher education in India. Financial assistance is given to the top scorers by government agencies like the MHRD and others. Some Public Sector Unites and companies also take top scoring students for their own employment screening functions.

How to apply?

  • The application fee for GATE 2015 is Rs. 1200 for all male candidates belonging to the general or OBC-NC category. All male SC, ST and PD categories have to pay Rs. 600 for the application fee. For all female candidates, no application fees are required.
  • The online GATE application forms will be released on 1st of September2014 and the last date of submission is 1st October 2014.

When is the exam?

The online GATE exam will be held Between 31st January and 14th February 2015. The results will be out on 28th March 2015 .
